Lego Laptop cooler

Mao_Zedong

I was having problems with my laptop over heating, so I made a stand made out of legos. It has two main levels, flat and raised at about fifteen degrees. If i ever need more usb ports, i can add a usb hub to the bottom. No ports are black, though the power button is, though i never use that. the only thing i will change is the back supports, they are too far froward, so the bottom curves a decent amount.

(i added a big update near top of page 2)

Neat, as long as you don't stand on it.

thanks. why would i stand on it?

Because Lego. Standing on Lego is like stabbing the bottom of your foot with a pitchfork.

If only painless Lego was possible, imagine how good that would be.

my laptop stays plenty cool without fans, so I won't add one. I may later if i want to overclock my laptop.

I just did some small changes, I added more support in the back so my legs can be close together, and I moved the back supports much farther back, so there is very little natural flex (flex from just using it).

Since I posted this, i have made a decent number of upgrades. First, I moved the back supports further back (I mentioned this before, but it wasn't the original post). I also removed some holders in the front, while I was making it they were needed, but now they  just got in the way. I also changed the support holders, they occasionally slipped, gradually getting worse, so I added another spot, and now they work fine. Finally, I made it height adjustable again, to adjust the height, I need to move one piece up a few notches.
