They look so...real, and they sound almost...normal. It's almost a bit scary...but really cool. The only thing throwing them off is the way they're moving (or lack thereof). Still though, it's pretty neat that they've come this far, but there's obviously a bit of fine tuning left to go. Now if we can just combine this with

, well, that would just be awesome.

Either way, lots of progress in the field of robotics, and it just goes to show that we're close to making robots that can talk and act like humans...almost.

Uncanny valley is strong with this one.

I prefer a simple android with not so noticeable human characteristics, that's creepy.

I thought they were awful, like a half arsed job, asimo FTW.

 

 

Remember this is from 5 years ago, I love the way he puts his hands out when something is close.

They are pretty uncanny. Great job on the voices and movements but their eyes still looks dead and their movements are still too stiff.

In the video, when he is sat next to himself... the android..looks so scary, I kept expecting it to suddenly turn to look at him, and strangle him to death or something

I don't understand the necessity for them to look so "human"... just build an android and don't spend the money on those looks. I prefer the Asimo robot that @mr moose mentioned.

ASIMO has that effect on people,  I think it's because the creators have spent more time giving him human traits rather than trying to make him look human.

Yeah he is human enough without being creepy

 

for some reason human looking ones look like they are going to kill people and suddenly become like really human

These new ones look terrible why they try to make them look human with bad rubber and makeup.
