yea, with piracy you have to back up the game (unless you want to dl it again), worry about viruses, worry about it not working, worying about cracks and stuff not working. Its easier to just spend 15$ on a steam sale

I'll occasionally torrent a game if I have a legitimate copy of a game that doesn't load properly - I.e some of my old MoH disks are damaged and won't load.

I had that problem with my Sim City 4 CD and ended up downloading it. I even used my original CD key. It was $2.50 on the last steam sale, so I just bought it again then.

Do you mean to only address torrents? I download far more music than TV shows, but I download them via P2P rather than torrents.
