Just a shout to Linus and his team

TankyTev

Hey, hope everyone is doing well! I hope I posted this in the right forum!

I built my computer not too long ago all by myself. Well, not ALL by myself. I had to run through a few of Linus' how-to videos.. Just wanted to make a shout out to him and his team. I've worked with computers since i was 8 years old. I've been fascinated by them since. I didn't know a lot about them because before visiting the LTT channel, I was always in that mindset of, "i5 verses i7? Well, the i7 is a bigger number so it MUST perform better!" Now thanks to Linus' tech channel, I've pretty much learned 90% of the things I know about computers. I've always wanted to build a powerful rig of my own and I did just that in May of 2014 and have been using it since.

Specs:

Corsair H100i w/ 2 CoolerMaster Jetflo 120 Blue LED's

Intel i7 4770k

Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB 1866 Mhz

Asus Maximus Impact IV

Asus DCUII nVidia GTX 780

(2) Corsair 480 SSD (can't remember which version SSD it is and too lazy to look :P )

(2) Western Digital 2TB HDD Black

Corsair 250D Mini ITX case

Corsair RM550W

CoolerMaster Jetflo 120 Blue LED front fan case

I can hear it now:

"WHY DID YOU SPEND ALL THAT MONEY ON ALL THAT?! YOU COULD'VE BOUGHT X AND X FOR SO MUCH CHEAPER FROM (different brand name)!"

"WHY DO YOU HAVE ALL THAT EXTRA STORAGE?? THAT'S REDICULOUS! YOU COULD'VE BOUGHT THIS FOR CHEAPER AND UPGRADED AS YOU GO!"

I bought most of my components from Asus because I've never had a problem with them. Even if something went wrong, I called up customer support and they were always willing to help. Same thing with Corsair. I bought a faulty Vengeance 2000 from them and they offered to pay shipping and handling to get it RMA'ed with no charge to me before. I've also RMA'ed other products with them before and they were always willing to replace my faulty products no questions asked. Wonderful customer support. I bought the CoolerMaster Jetflo 120's because it had a high CFM and blue LED's. Yes, I know, I could've bought wonderful Noctua fans but I've had several CoolerMaster Products and they have hardly failed me. Even if they did, it was either my fault for pushing them too hard or it was because of how old and how long it lasted me. I have a reasoning behind every component, but if I listed each and every component, I'm pretty sure you guys would've just TL;DR.

I just came here to thank Linus and his team for teaching me almost everything I know about computers. Without you and your team, my build wouldn't exist right now. Donating as soon as this thread is posted. I support you man!

EDIT: Bought a t-shirt! "Resolution is just a number!"  :D

That's actually a fairly reasonable high(ish) end system. And as an avid movie, music, game and particularly porn collector, I can certainly understand the need for 4tb of storage.
