Anyone else still rockin' XP?

I'm actually curious to see if anyone still uses XP on any of their computers... I do. On one of my main computers.

well my dads old rig is on xp and his old laptop is to, along with my grandpas, but the rigs at school are like pentium 1 core 3.0ghz, 1 gb o 552mhz ddr2 ram and a shitty ass hdd that takes a hour to to boot, oh and they are on windows 7

Nope, but the computers at my school are running Windows 7, have better specs, and yet my Grandma's old HP running Windows XP performs better. Gosh darn school computers good for nothing. I feel bad for the people that can't bring tech to school, I bring my laptop every day instead of using those gosh darn things... they're such disgraces to computers everywhere.

Two machine in my household still has XP running. 

 

Both of them are Dell Optiplex GX240 Small Form Factor or something like that

I'm actually curious to see if anyone still uses XP on any of their computers... I do. On one of my main computers.

I have a partition of it on my desktop (spare HDD), and it is going to be on my Thinkpad again once I get a replacement charger.  It still works, and for the thinkpad works better than 7/8 does (have driver issues with the wireless card driver dropping the connection, which windows XP never had).  Also take into account, I still have computers with 98SE, 2000SP4, and DOS 6.22 which I use regularly (mainly old P3 thinkpads and Dell latitudes).

I'm curious: Why? Why take the security risk now that XP is past support, not to mention the inherent increased security flaws due to it just being a ridiculously old OS? If it was a virtual machine, or an offline machine for XP only programs, or just an occasional machine, I could understand. But why one of your main units?

I still use XP but only at work, and most companies still use windows XP and still works good, if you are doing normal work, and you are not messing arround with the PC like installing new hardware or doind crazy stuff it will go fine, 

just because microsoft does not support it anymore it does not mean that is already broken

I think the laptop in the basement is still running XP, otherwise everything's Windows 7 since last year or so.

At school we use iMac's with Windows 7 boot camp. W7 is the new XP.

Edit: @tmcclelland455, you should add an option for people that run XP but also have a newer OS. So it more accurately shows who hasn't upgraded.

I have the bigger, kinda badder brother (OptiPlex 170L, the one that's bigger than the SFF but not a tower).

98SE on HELIOS and my old Compaq laptop. DOS 3 something on my uber old laptop.

It has a grudge against Linux for some reason, and I need the convenience of MS Office. None of the other offerings (LibreOffice/OpenOffice) are quite what I'm looking for. Not to mention that as long as you're careful what you do. you're fine. Since this is hooked up to my netbook (netbook kind of acts as the passage from wireless to ethernet) I have it set up to block weird connections and ones that try to slam it with a crap ton of data.

Nope not anymore. We have an old PC running Vista. Other than that we only have laptops running newer OSs and mobile devices.

I use XP in VM's a lot of the time. My grandmothers PC uses XP still. There is a registery hack that allows you to continue to install updates to fool windows update into thinking your xp machine is using POSready 2009. I did this registry hack on my grandmothers XP machine and havent had an issues yet. Though as always Microsoft and any tech person will warn ya againist doing it.

You grow used to it (my netbook, my other main rig, has a gig, but it isn't that bad, about half a gig with a few Firefox tabs open).
