~ $2000 Ultimate Gaming Build

I am working out parts for a new gaming pc. My budget is around $2000 in Australia. So far, I have got this set out:

http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/qHL9t6

I wondered if there could be any improvements to it. One thing also, is that I am not interested in water cooling this build (for now).

If you're going to spend above $50 on a CPU air cooler go for the Noctua NH-D14 or the NH-D15 or a Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 3.

Get a sub $200 mobo like the Maximus Hero VII and push the savings into getting a better GPU.

Edit: Corsair, NZXT and Bitfenix also have great case for less than $150.

Why are you so set on the 4770k? If you are gaming, save and get a 4670k. Anf for $2000, you need to have a 780 or higher. Graphics card is the most important part of the computer for gaming and you are losing performance there so you can gain performance elsewhere that doesn't matter.

The psu, cooler and gpu would be the ones i would swap. The rest looks ok.

Have a look for the EVGA Supernova G2 psu (They come in 750W to 1300W)

That V8 cooler is pretty huge from the looks of it. You might have problems fitting the Corsair Ram under it.

The 4GB 770 is not worth the extra $$$. You could probably fit a R9 290 in for not much more.

As already stated, if you can hang on for Devils Canyon then do that. They will run cooler than current Haswell chips.

i5 cpu is fine if you are just gaming. The i5 4670K is just a placeholder until DC arrives.

Corsair 540 is a great case, and has very good airflow. I would have chosen the Black version, but it doesn't seem to be on partpicker. The H105 will keep things nice and cool in the hot OZ climate  :D

Changed the gpu for a Gigabyte R9 290.

XFX 850W psu will allow for a 2nd card.

i missed the Australian part, i went strait to building it sorry, but i don't think prices are that much different, and the PSU is for upgrading to SLI 780Ti or R9-295X2 or any other very high end GPU, just in case

MSI have had issues with leaking fan bearings (Here in UK at least). I assume they have sorted the problem out by now, but I thought I would mention it.

The Supernova NEX 650W isn't a Superflower made unit. It is still ok, but not as good as the G2 model. Unfortunately the G2 only starts from 750W+

A 290 is a cheaper alternative to a 780. If you have no preference then save some $$$. The $120 saving will pay for your cooler and Optical drive.

Wait for Devils canyon if you are not in a hurry.

Those are just my opinions, so feel free to ignore them :D
