Octane BOXX - 4 Radiators in a Corsair Air 540

Octane Box

This build came into fruition after I realized that running 4 GPUs on air, in a rendering machine that is meant to run constantly for 24 hours at 80C was not a good idea!

Being that this is my first water cooling build there were a lot of challenges, the biggest one was, getting 4 radiators (3 x 240mm & 1 x 120mm) to fit inside my Corsair Air 540. I ended cutting out the drive trays at the bottom on the case with a dremel. Fortunately for me that was the most difficult part of this rig--everything else required just a bit of planning before executing, but it was intimidating.

But still a pretty cool rig.

Q: What are your temps now?

To each is own, cause I really like the small tubing. I'm getting 37C max on the hottest GPU.

I don't really do much gaming but you guys seem to be interested in benchmarks, so please list all the things you'd like for me to test and I'll get right on it.

Thanks :)

Whats the reason for this rig anyway?

3D Scenes that require GPU rendering because a CPU would take far too long.

It for rendering 3D scenes with a render engine called Octane. I'm also planning to start a render service where my GPUs will be rendering 24/7 so keeping these cards as cool as possible is very important to me. Plus I don't have to worry about them dying when running at 37C instead of 80C.

I'll be working on another build with (2 gpus), and use that as my main rig--while this build is constantly rendering.

Really awesome rig you have. Just a couple of suggestions. You should look at redoing you tubing a bit. The tubing run from the top most GPU to the small 120 rad on the rear seems pretty kinked. I would adjust the angle of the 90 degree fitting to give a more natural and direct run to the rad. The fittings on the CPU block should also be changed. I would use a 45 degree on the bottom port and a 90 degree fitting on the top port.
