Yep. I'll disagree because this is a biased opinon. Also the 8320 is 5 pounds less on aria pc

if intel, save up more and get an i5 4670k for more performance!

if AMD, get FX 8350 for slightly more performance! :)

Are you that guy who told a user to buy an i3 over an FX 8320 last time? no he should get the FX 8320 or an i5.

Or just overclock the 8320 to an 8350 for free :3

It is not a biased opinion. Most tasks are single threaded, so Intel will perform better in most tasks. Unless you use heavily multi-threaded applications or do a lot of mutitasking, the Intel is a better choice for you. I'm not saying that Intel is the best choice for everyone, but for some people it's definitely better.

It's not biased at all. If you are looking for low core performance the i3 is a winner. If you are looking for threaded performance the adm is better.

Thats their fault. Just because someone else reccommends it doesnt mean you go out and buy it. That's just my preference

its not their fault for taking other peoples advice when they have asked for it. its other the people who gave bad advice without properly considering their needs. you should ask what it is going to be used for before recommending something. also recommend only has one c in it.

I would be doing Gaming and Video recording / editing

if your going to be recording and editing video's then the 8 cores will be much better, as most editing programs use the cpu a lot.

Depends on your budget. If you can manage to get a Core i5, even if it's not the i5-4670K, get it.

But if your budget is limited, the FX-8320 is a good choice and will overclock modestly even on cheaper motherboards. However, I do advice against current AMD CPUs generally because of very high power consumption, especially when you overclock them. If you can't get a Core i5, I would pick the FX-8320 over the Core i3.

P.S. This is the graphics card section of Linustechtips. Wrong section.

Go with the FX-8320 http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009O7YU56. It gives you the most cores and best performance for the price compared to anything else in it's price range.

Cooler Master HAF XB EVO, ASUS Maximus VII Hero, i7-4790K @ 4.5GHz, Corsair H100i, EVGA GTX 980Ti SC, Corsair Vengeance Pro 2X8GB 1866Mhz CL9, 2X Crucial M500 960GB, EVGA SuperNOVA 1050 GS, ASUS ROG Swift PG278Q w/ nVidia 3D Vision 2

"Biased" arguing which cpu (i3vs8320) is better when people would pair a low or midrange with them is stupid too if you're going to be mostly gpu bound. All i'm trying to say the difference between those cpu differs in lightthreaded mmo games or when you use multiple high-end gpu's.

If my games are all gpu bound and sitting with a gtx 760, I would take the 8320 over the i3 because I still need multithreaded performance.

If it's for gaming, pick the FX it will last much longer than the i3

If it's for multi-tasking, rendering, streaming, encoding, moderling etc. pick the FX it will do much better than the i3

isn't it great! i was awaiting a nuclear reactor when i ordered mine, reading from it on the web you come to think that they are SLOOOOWWWWW piece of shit that run sooooo freakin hot and consume SOOOO much energy that nothing would cool them down..i ordered mine for the good price i had for it i said let's try it out and if it's shit i'll re-sell it on kijiji and order an i5 instead but man did i was surprised by how good and user firendly those chips are and honestly a 29$ cpu cooler cool them down to a very satisfying degree and NO my powerbills are not through the roof it won't change anything...i'm verry pleased with how this chip perform and i highly recommand it to anybody looking for an awesome CPU at good price...the LTT cinebench user results chart is a testimony of how good it really is, here: (i'm number 52! can you beat me ?) ;)

There is only 1 core i5-4670K that managed to get a better score than i did, and it's the forum top overclocker...i will try to do something about it soon though i'm only missing 10 points and it's my motherboard holding me back, my chip boot and is stable at 4.93ghz but at that speed it throttle in cibebench, i must put my PC in the freezer and then do a quick run at 4.93ghz and i'll be on top!

TO THE OP: core i3 best result on this chart is 305 and best FX 8 core result is 842...that tell a lot.

..and even for gaming, the FX is better than a core i5 or at least game on the same level in modern multi-threaded games:

That in my opinion doesn't say a great deal, the AMD has damn near 2GHz faster than my Core i3 even though single core performance (at almost 2GHz faster) was only 7 points more than my CPU. A stock FX-8350 on there is at 625cb and still running at pretty much 0.5GHz faster.

say what? the FX-8320 is 134$ as of today...cheaper than even a core i3-4130...do you see a core i3 up high in this list? i dont...
