The most expensive thing you've ever lost

BoggyB

As the title suggests, ITT: The most expensive things you've ever misplaced, how you lost them, and if they were ever found.

I was faffing about with old computer bits, shifting boxes here and there. I guess it wasn't in the box properly, but I temporarily lost an FX 4100 which isn't expensive now, but when I bought it, it cost ~£90.

I found it at the bottom of my stairs, under one of my housemates' scarves. "Aww shizzingle, the pins are probably fudgled."

I look at the pins, they're abso fine. I pop it into my PC, works perfectly fine. Phew!

"I'd like to own my own business when I grow up, what do you want to do?" - "I wanna be a MILF!"

My Quantum Bigfoot TS 19.2GB had a capacitor fall off, so you can say that I lost the drive or the capacitor. And I've had 2 motherboard die (on my wall). And my stupid 6570.

My Nintendo 64. It was missing for years, until I went to an old buddy's house, and found it in his room. Then I remembered I lent it to him, and forgot to get it. It's still there, but at least I know where it is.

lost my jacket at someones party a few years back. I think someone must have stolen it, but I can't remember much of that evening and have no idea where I left it. Anyways, there was my wallet with €50, my phone, another €50 worth of *you-know-what* and my keys in there, plus a good jacket.... that was pretty bad.

My very first smart phone, a nokia 5530, pretty sure it got stolen and not lost.

My old lucky scooter, I had about 250 dollars invested in that and I let it outside one night...one fucking night and I even hid it in the field too and it got stolen.

No, he still has it. I trust him to not sell it or give it to anyone else without talking to me first. When we hang out we like to get drunk and play old video games. My working 64 + his expansive cartridge collection is always great for that. We usually hang out at his house (better internet, better booze selection, he has more controllers, and I'm sure I would get an angry letter from one of my neighbors in my building if we got as rowdy as we can get over there).

I lost a watch in a hotel room in Japan when very very drunk. Watch was exceedingly expensive and I spent years saving for it on a pretty high salary. Took my 3 days (was a hell of a bender) and I was in another city before I'd realised I'd left it in Tokyo.
