Build-Off Week 44: APU Build

Go to solution Solved by MEC-777,

As the others have mentioned, it's kind of odd to choose an APU build at this price point. None-the-less, here's my entry:

CPU:  AMD A10-7850K 3.7GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($149.99 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler:  Cooler Master Hyper TX3 54.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler  ($18.15 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard:  ASRock FM2A75M Pro4+ Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard  ($59.49 @ Newegg)
Storage:  Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($54.43 @ OutletPC)
Video Card:  Gigabyte Radeon R7 250 2GB Video Card  ($89.99 @ NCIX US)
Power Supply:  EVGA 430W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply  ($24.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $589.02
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

When do the results end .

May 26th through 29th

So by Sat the final results will be announced

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

I thought this theam was APU only no graphics card?  The build below has a dedicated GPU in it.

My build wasn't the only one to include a GPU and both of us chose GPUs intended to be run in dual-graphics with the APU, not as a dedicated GPU. If I wanted to include a dedicated GPU, I'd have chosen something substantially more powerful and ditched the SSD.

My Systems:

Main - Work + Gaming:

Ah I didn't see that @ilikemacandpc also exceeded the theme with a dedicated GPU.

In case you didn't read the post that inspired this build:

"Linus and Paul of Newegg build AMD systems based on the Kaveri APU

I suggest a build theme based on the AMD APU

but this suggestion need to be restricted that only the on board graphics must be used and fast RAM is needed to improve the GPU performance

then the next build down the lane will be the 4K gaming system"

I did see that post but I wasn't sure if that still stood because the rules outlined at the start of this thread didn't say anything about excluding dual graphics setups. Then, when I saw ilikemacandpc had posted a build with dual graphics and nobody said anything about it, I assumed it was ok to do so.

If in fact I have broken the rules, then I will retract my entry. Only fair to everyone else. :)
