Dual 4k tv (worth it or not)

Ayush008

Hello guys

I hope u all r doing well

Please stay safe and healthy

I know many of you have quite depth knowledge regarding display stuffs, so I thought to take advise from you guys.

I m thinking to increase the size of tv in order to make gaming experience better by adding another 4k tv of same model

Does it worth it or not

No? You'll have a seem in the middle making any aiming and the like not possible.

Also driving 2x4k panels for gaming means you need a VERY high end gpu.

Just get a bigger tv if you want a bigger image

Multi Display gaming is really only worth it for racing or flying simulators if you're not into VR. For regular gaming such as FPS shooters, 3rd Person adventure games or 2D platformers, its nigh on useless and not worth it.

If you want to extend the viewing experience then maybe look at Ultrawide monitors.

Also, as @jaslion mentioned, 2 x 4k monitors will require a seriously high end GPU to shift all those pixels.

What about  3rd person view

3rd person view will still have a seam in the middle. Only way to get around it is 3 displays (or any other odd number)

Same thing the only time multi display gaming willnwork is if you have an odd number of screens so you have a center one for all the pointing at things.

Almost every 3rd and 1st person game uses the center of the screen for looking, aiming,... it simply does not work for gaming.

Also keep in mind multi screen gaming is NOT supported in all games even with the nvidia surround or amd eyefinity stuff enabled. Its just like a lot of games still do on ultrawides have black bars on the side as its not supported. Or run at a different resolution as its not supported.

I already am in your position. I use a 65" tv 4k 120hz. Just a single one. It's big enough. I don't need more than one.

Either get a bigger tv or keep using what you have. Adding a second tv will only worsen the experience.

I wouldn't spend a lot of money replacing a REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY good tv like the one you have. The only upgrade is size. You already have high refresh rate and a REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY GOOD oled tv. In terms of image quality and such there is NO UPGRADE. The only thing you can do is just buy a bigger tv which will cost a lot of money.

Other than size there isn't any worthwhile upgrade you'll get from getting a different tv. You have pretty much a as good as it gets oled for gaming.

I am running my PC on my TV, only 55 inch though. I sit 8 feet from it. For me, another one would not be a good fit.

If you can find another use for the TV just incase you are not happy, I would go for it. But at some point you will realize that there is such thing as too much 😄

I used to run multi monitor, ehh.. its ok for smaller screens, but wagging my head left and right to see what's going on sounds like more of a chore than a joy.

Personally I would say a waste of money as it's going to be at least 1700$ to get just a 65" better tv.

For what?

At a normal viewing distance you can't see the difference between 4k and 8k. Our eyes literally arent good enough.

Also no pc right now can run native 8k games that are recent at quite high settings. the 4090 can get 60fps in a handfull but thats it those are exceptions

This was before you told us what tv you had. The only upgrade you can have is size. If that is worth spending a lot of money then well a not too painfull upgrade a samsung s90c 77 is 3200$ at most usually and a bigger tv.

You won't get any improvements over the sony you have now except that the samsung is bigger.

They also have the 83" something s90c series one.

Keep in mind this is the diagonal size the length and height increase ENORMOUSLY when going up so mindfull that it fits. Also make sure your tv furniture or arm is rated for the WEIGHT!
