the difference between budget and high end cases(?)

Sky_Fire

Recently i have decided to start my pc of theseus and as it turns out my current case isnt compatible with anything

so i sat through a bunch of cases designed to show off rgb components which im not really interested in (id rather have that on my wall) and eventually i boil it down to two very different cases

one is the more budget friendly Msi Mag vampire 10, and the other one is a 2nd hand limited edition Asus Hyperion. So one of them is 5 times the price of the other (it is set to the same price as a regular new hyperion), and here is my question, does all that price go to style points or is there a practical differene between the two, would one be better long term?

Generally, more expensive cases are made from more premium materials, such as metal over plastic. Every case has the bare essentials to hold a computer, but more expensive cases often offer an easier environment to work in, such as being more spacious or having more routing holes for your cables. More expensive ones tend to also perform better due to their more airflow-focused designs. Cheap cases tend to go looks over functionality.

Obviously the Hyperion is made for water cooling and got a lot of space. The price is mostly looks. The MSI is cheap, but great value for what you get. I would go with a case that is in between the two. First consider what you want from the case. Do you want air cooling, water cooling or AIO support. Do you want glass panels or just black solid ones, etc.  More expensive cases has better dust filters usually. If you want air cooling and good looks with no RGB,  maybe the fractal torrent is for you:

Watch Showreels, they'll outline a good bit of what makes the case special but the manufacturing is also key.

I have built in the R6, then gave that away and built in a Lian Li Lancool II Mesh C.  Not near as nice, well built, or convenient.  Bought the North XL and love being back.

hier end case has more room for coolers, rads, fans, and use things like gromits, more tiy downs, have removable pannales. there some case that go for looks over everything els like the 011 view. as long as you got mesh in the front the case should be fine.

Your best bet is to compare the two specific cases, rather than make a general comparison between low and higher end products, because they are all different.  There can be differences is ease of use, expandability, IO, aesthetics or other factors.

Outside of people who do case reviews, most people have extremely limited experience with different cases, as it isn't a common part to swap or change, and many people use the same case for a long time.

Try to find video reviews of both products, and compare the specs, and make a list of the pros and cons for each product for your specific use case and make a choice.
