Are my cables enough for rtx 3090

call me al

Hey guys,

I want to connect my rtx 3090 from msi gaming trio, to a gigabyte p1000gm PS (1000 W). Are the cables that came with the PS enough to power this gpu ? I will include a pic of the cables.

I am asking this cause previously i had another PS and using 2 cables like these wasn't enough to power the rtx 3090. So inused 3 separate cables.

Thx

each 8 pin connection on the GPU should be its own cable and not pigtailed.

I see. Thx

But why these cables have this extension (pigtailed) ? What is their purpose?

some gpus are low enough power that it made sense to do this, but most modern high end gpus are pulling a LOT more wattage then they use to. 980ti was 250W, whereas a 3090 is around 350-425W. Now 4070s are pulling that same wattage as the top end cards use to.
