oh wow, that is a toughy. Youll have to go used. but honestly thats not really a big issue. I would say probably the better option would be a 1660 or a 1080ti. Older but still good cards. Might be able to get lucky and snag a decent 6600 or maybe a 6600xt.

Best advice would be though if you dont need it now. Save up and get somthing like a 6700xt, theyre not too much more and a lot more capable

Technology is like a good friend that does its best to piss you off at every turn. yet we love them anyway.

I feel you man. GPU prices are still high even after crypto crash.

I had $100, I can only afford GTX 1660 (used). For $100 + a little bit there might also RX 5600 (used).

My RX 5700XT blew, not really sure why. Either it's air starved or power starved. I had 550 watt C rating PSU and "gaming" PC case.

It seems like last 2 gen of GPU, anything above RTX xx60 dan RX xx60 really need decent supporting component.

I personally wouldn't touch used 6700xt without B rating PSU and brand new case.

An RX580 can be had in the 50-60$ Range frequently and is a solid performer.

RX580s are a lot cheaper on Hardwareswap than that, same with 1060s. About 30-40 shipped.

I picked up a 5700 XT for $91 (before tax+shipping) off of eBay a couple of months ago for a budget build. Zero complaints. Also picked up an RX 590 for $61 shipped, very happy with that too. You'll get more bang for your buck on the used market with AMD for the most part, but NVIDIA deals are sometimes out there.

GTX 1080, or Vega 64 if you’re down for a house fire. Both can be had consistently for around the $100 mark

Inconsistently? Sometimes you can get a 1080ti online for sub $100 at auction, or commonly models with dead fans so you can zip tie a fan to one for pretty cheap.

May be worth digging your local deals, sometimes local stuff can be way cheaper. I got a GTX 750ti for 5$ like that years ago when the 750ti was still only a few years old.

RX 5600 XT is $100 on eBay right now.

RX 5700 or even 5700 XT might be gettable for a hundred bucks with luck.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

I picked up a second hand 6600xt for $120 about a year ago.  Been extremely happy with it, keep an eye on local market places and be patient.

Your only hope of a powerful sub hundred bucks GPU is used ones. I bought a GTX 1070 for $80 used. In modern GPU terms, performs about the same as an RTX 3050 (desktop version).

(For AI related reasons, I switched to an RTX 2060 Super, also used, about $150, 50 bucks above your budget.)

Crypto is at the beginning signs of taking off again.  Hard to tell what will happen with mining since ETH is now proof of stake (most were not mining ETH anyway just getting paid in it).
