Insanely priced fans??? WTF???

RevGAM

I really don't like what happens on Amazon when I use filters. Sometimes, selections go from many hundreds of pages down to a handful, or the reverse. I thought I'd sort by price: high to low, because I know that there are a few fans over $100.

I was shocked, however, when I saw these fans! Can ANYONE explain to me why someone would pay that much money?

ย

There are several more.

WTF? Who's going to pay that much for what are essentially no-brand fans without lots of bells and whistles?!

ย

But, wait, I'm not done. One more!
ย

I think I broke the website. The :Shocked Face With Exploding Head: emoticon refuses to appear. I'm in shock. To their credit, they tried to upsell it by using images of a very large, modern, crystal chandelier. I'm not joking!

ย

That looks like a bait trap for a sucker. From what I can see in the Amazon pictures is that those appear to be cheap Snowman fans from Aliexpress. I know because I have bought some packs of 5 fans for something around $32 CAD at the time which also included shipping and taxes. They are a okay fans for moving air as intake or exhaust.

Amazon's filters really need work. I complained as a customer and as an employee, but they haven't even bothered to fix it. So much for being the best for customers! I hate searching on Amazon!

ย

@Levent @8tg, @alyen@thrasher_565So, everyone has provided a wide variety of answers as to why the prices are so insane and I say that all of those reasons (and others) are valid. Thanks for sharing! You all helped!ย  Well, except for @dizmo! ๐Ÿ˜†:old-laugh:๐Ÿคฃ

Those fans are so crappy I would rather lean into my case and blow on my components myself.

There could be some good alternative fans out there that are not obviously over priced ordinary fans.

How about looking into something like:

  1. Bykski CF-AP3000EX-Xย - There are also some Granzon fans that are also 3000 RPM that may be similar
  2. T30 High Performance S-FDB
  3. TEUCER DY-12025 FDB

They look like they could be good fans. The few Aliexpress reviews are not the best reviews. Someone needs to review these. I've been looking around for fans that max outย  2000-3000 RPMย  range, but not in hurry.

I can't tell if Teucer is good - no AF and SP listed. My guess is the AF is good but the SP is low.

The Phanteks T30 is a good fan - not the best but definitely a great price!

Maybe that Bykski s better than the Teucer?|

The prices sure are enticing!

The question I have with Ali Express and Temu is how to avoid the scammers.

The T30 fan blade looks like a Noctua fan type fan or seomthing like like Gentle Typhoon blade thats existed for a long time. The motor probably isn't as good a Noctua. If it goes 3000 maybe its good enough.ย

Sadly, one of the site that AE uses, mmstat.com, has been listed as malicious and, thus, I cannot place orders on AE.
