Honestly, Asus stuff is kind cheap junk... (*personal opinion)... But seriously, why are they running consumer stuff. That's likely much cheaper than anything they should be running.  So I'd say no "taxpayer money" wasted. Actually likely some saved.

I hope that's just something they keep on-hand to supply public Internet for press events. Any non-residential facility should have a network of real access points deployed.

Likely what happened is they needed something and that was the best they could get on short notice or what they could at all that was available. I guarantee you iit's not running the run of a mill firewall though.

Heck, as far as we know this could be a worker's router they brought in (and then was scrubbed cleaned)
