Lexar NM620 SSD 2TB is a good Nvme ?

What can you tell me about the Lexar NM620 2TB NVMe SSD? I'm planning to buy an NVMe drive for my computer in a few days, and I'm torn between this NVMe and the Silicon Power UD90. My motherboard is a Gigabyte B450 Gaming X, so I'm limited to PCIe 3.0 speed.

However, I'm hesitant about the reliability of Lexar, but the price is only 70€ for 2TB, which seems quite appealing!

 

PS:The goal is the everyday usage and some gaming  and I am only searching for 2TB drive´s

Lexar Is pretty much the Budget brand for SSD stuff. Some reliability issues here and there due to that but it is what you get for the price. Is the 970 EVO not around that price where you are buying it from?

it have the 970 Evo plus,  is 30€ more expensive .

You could just get KC3000, ar any good PCIe 4.0 SSD with DRAM and fast TLC NAND, 30€ more for 970 evo plus is just to expensive… 

 

as for NM620, they swapped the parts, so you don't know what to expect. It’s budget tier TLC SSD, not even mid range. Quite expensive for the performance.

Do you think 70€ for the Lexar is also expensive ? for less than this only find chinese Nvme´s from aliexpress .... I am searching for Nvme´s on amazon.es or stores in Portugal

that kingston  is even more expensive that the Samsung or Lexar .

I'd just pay the extra for the Samsung. Unless it's just a secondary drive for games, where it doesn't really matter if it fails.

The cost seems excessive for my PC's intended use , is even more than the Samsung drive. My objective is to minimize expenses while ensuring the drive remains stable in terms of temperature and speed , does not have to be the best in terms of speed , it only have to be like medium ... 

The drive you've provided has speeds well beyond what my motherboard can utilize, and it requires an investment of over 100€. Meanwhile, the other options I mentioned are below 100€.
The Lexar drive offers speeds close to the PCIe 3 limit(in theory at least), while the Silicon Power drive is already a PCIe 4 SSD that goes above the speeds my motherboard can give, yet it's more cost-effective.

From what I can find the Lexar comes with either Maxio or InnoGrit controller and maybe YMTC TLC, Silicon Power swapped to QLC at 2TB. All those cheap drives are basically the same lottery with china nand or QLC and mostly bad controllers.

Where did you saw that the silicon power is QLC instead of TLC ? The drive is listed as TLC . I've found one guy on Reddit saying that was QLC , there's more people saying the Same ?

nope, i didn't even consider it, and probably no one did, as no one even mention UD90 for a reason.

 

You save 40€ on 2TB NVMe SSD, you get a lottery ticket.
 

budget SSD category is a minefield. The 2TB SSD are so cheap now, why cheaping out more then needed. 
I know it's 50% more, but it's 2TB storage. 
PCIe 3.0 will cut out the sequential speed, but that's it.

So they really have changed the drive to QLC , even techpowerup did a good review on the version with 1tb . 

I will consider your suggestion and the others here .

They just have to hit the specification in the pSLC mode of the NAND.
the spec always say "up to", or "max" for this reason. 

And suspiciously, they always do it after a while, when all the reviews are already up, for the better version.

Yes, I understand. After discovering that they change components over time, I will definitely not buy any Lexar or Silicon Power drives. If they do this with one drive, I can't trust their next drives either. By the way, I saw that the Samsung 970 EVO Plus has also undergone some changes in its components, and I thought I could trust Samsung at least...

I've seen this WD drive in the meantime ,but the Kingston drive that you have recommended is still better, right?
