What would be some better fully fledged mobile games with offline and controller support

venomtail

Going on a trip and want to have a few games as backup that I can play with a controller. Wondering if there are other prime examples out there that are actual playable games instead of a micro transaction store having a game hidden in it. Got an S23+ with a dualshock 4 controller.

I've bought Wreckfest, Grid Autosports and Don't starve. I've got all the GTA versions as well but their contoller support is terrible, can't rebind the inputs either. Are there any other great examples of what mobile gaming should be? Sort of wanted to play games like Half Life 2 and Portal yet they're Shield exclusives. Anyone know why?

When "gaming" on Android actually I play a fair amount of "retro" stuff using emulators, which all support controllers.

Yes, I've been thinking of getting a PS2 emulator on my phone but I doubt I have time to set that up, I leave a few days.

Man I'm old when did PS2 get to be retro....

Seriously though, most of the emulators do just work these days (for the most part). So it might be worth looking into some.  Can't help on the PS2, as I really do tend to play older stuff.

yeah after searching a little bit for any full scale game, came to the same conclusion and we don't even have to go that retro, flagship phones can play gamecube/ps2, or for portable, 3ds/psp and for newer stuff we are pretty close to playing switch games

with skyline emu dead, yuzu mobile is the only non shaddy solution. yeah there's something like eggns that require using a certain gamepad to function, with allegation of stealing yuzu pc code... so I wouldn't use something so shaddy

Seems like the last time I played GTA:SA on mobile they've updated the game and now has full on controller support, props to them. Grid Autosports is a straight up console port (haven't tried connecting a mouse and steering wheel to see if it woks lol) and works great. Solid recommend. Wreckfest payment didn' go through so no luck.

Wonder what other games there might be. Maybe Alien Isolation has full on controller support as well?

That went incredibly fast, i remember it well. The year: 2007

PS360 simply blew everything out of the water what was there before and especially the warpy PS2 graphics were instantly outdated.

Seems like there was some sort of audio update for GTA SA that has busted the controller support. Vice city still plays perfectly fine tho. Shame, god damn Rockstar, why do they keep getting more and more incompetent?

Booted up the old Terraria I bought years ago on the play store and was nicely surprised by how well the game plays with a controller. Then again they're like the best Devs out there so should be logical that they'd have everything covered.

Proof, and UI button hints for me are a must.Screenshot_20231129_003151_Terraria.thumb.jpg.167f596734a115b4e83b98f88b6339b9.jpg

I assume Minecraft should play nicely as well, will have to try that.
