The Linus Tech Tips, TechLinked, and TechQuickie Youtube channels have been restored.

Thanks for the concern everyone. We are still in recovery mode over here and working with YouTube to get everything restored. Will hopefully have a video (or at least an update on WAN Show) to share with you all ASAP, but we want to make sure we get the details right since smaller channels may rely on our experience to help harden their own security.

The channel now shows only 4 million subscribers, and ~10% of their previously available videos still live. Hopefully YouTube can roll this back, otherwise this is gonna be devastating.

Look at the channel profiles. There you can see some video's that still have the techquickie logo... and the techlinked channel you can see at the community tab and click on it to see it is called tesla

New floatplane feature, continues videos even when the yt channel is down. But let's be frank, it really sucks. Hopefully the yt rep can help them get out of this mess.

Looks like the LTT team are spinning up a new YouTube channel, LinusTechTipsTemp, and reposting old videos from about a year ago.

 

Best of luck to LTT team in getting the old channel back, but I'll see you on the temp channel until then

It got completely terminated

How does youtube allow this? A 15 mil subbed channel? How did they get passed everything?

 

I know LTT will eventually explain what happened, but I wonder how YT itself will react

I sometimes wonder how we went to space on only 4KB RAM, and we cannot fix a simple issue.

I just logged in via twitter to point out that channels getting hacked has happened before as many people have pointed out and usually youtube is able to recover all of the lost videos...If I'm not mistaken at least. It will probably take a good few days for them to sort the situation out, but I am sure they will get it figured out. Actually I think something similar happened to the Corridor Crew not too long ago and as I said they were able to get all their old videos back on their channel.
