the pci-e lock is not actually needed for the card to function so you won't need to repair that...

With the amount of force needed to break that i'd worry more about the rest of the card. You don't need the lock.

yes but it says The card does not output any video, the PCB has thin hairline crack.?

ask yourself why was it ripped out with such force ?

An idiot who had no idea how to release the card or a thief that rips it out fast when they had the opportunity.

Whilst a hairline fracture is fixable I personally would just pass on it unless i knew the person that owned the card and they simply did a dumbass thing like using force as they thought it was stuck.

A trace in one or multiple of the PCB layers might be broken by that crack.
And no, most likely you can't repair it. GPU PCB is like 8-15 layers.

One of those arrow stickers points at broken PCI lock part, thats not that important. Can do without.

But the other arrow points to something we cannot see on the picture, i would not risk my money on this.
(Unless i was 100% it was only the PCI-lock tab).

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

This.

It's one thing to break the lock on the motherboard, they are usually just plastic.  But to break a layered PCB?  The rest of the card has been subjected to a LOT of torque, and it's even noted about hairline cracks.  There are many more than noted.

Hard Pass.

It's surprisingly common on Gigabyte Ampere cards. PCB doesn't hold up to the weight. You can find them with the lock tab cracked all day long.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

That scares me.  I have the GB B650 AORUS Pro AX and it's stout as hell.  My 1080Ti was stout too.  That sucks.

Aye. Ampere gigabyte cards have turned me off their GPUs until they're proven to be a bit better. They used a dumb 16 pin pcie pigtail in a few models (Eagle, Vision and (IIRC) Windforce) that like to come unplugged if you plug the 8 pin power cables in too hard. The pins aren't set quite right and like to get pushed out the back.

I've gotten a few Gigabyte cards off eBay and some of them have just been as simple as fixing those pins. Unfortunately, I'm not confident enough in PCB repair to repair the cracked pcb near the locking tab which then just turns it into a parts card for a different brand.

Just to be clear, some other brands do pop up from time to time with the PCIE locking tab broken off. MSI is one of them.

TLDR:Graphics cards have gotten very weighty. Prop it up and keep it from sagging.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.
