BSOD 99% after awakening from Sleep

RubenKS

Hello! I've had sporadic problems with my pc for a few years now, but recently they've become more systematic. After awakening it from sleep, it takes 10-20 seconds before I get the BSOD with the following error code: whea_uncorrectable_error.

When the computer starts after the crash I ususally dont have any issues, but once in a while it will crash sporadically. The error code is always the same.

I've gathered that the code means that it most likely is a hw-related issue, and so far I've tried the following:

  • I have 4 ram sticks. I've tried using just two at a time. The first time i did this, my computer worked fine for two days, which was a noticable difference. The problem then occured again, and has continued.
  • I did a Memtest overnight, no issues
  • I've tried multiple harddrive-tests, no issues
  • Tried locating the dump files, but they don't exist. Error code in Event Viewer: Dump file creation failed due to error during dump creation. I've tried to make the dump files smaller, no luck there eighter
  • Tried to format Windows, no difference

My specs are: Intel 6800k, Asus X99 SLI, Vengance LPX 32GB 3200mhz, EVGA GTX1080, Samsung 970 EVO m.2 (+ randoms SSDs), EVGA Supernova 750w G2, Windows 10

I'm pretty lost right now, and would appreciate all suggestions. Could it maybe be MOBO-related? If so; how do I even begin troubleshooting?!

Thanks guys

Try downgrade your graphic driver.

Thank you, I'll give it a go. Any thoughts on how far back I should go? I currently have a DCH driver from August 9, 2022 installed. Earliest DCH driver is May 12, 2022, or I could go for a "standard driver" which goes all the way back to March 17, 2021. Thoughts? Does the driver type matter?

I don't think driver type matter. Try use May12.

Also can you upload the dump files in C:\Windows\Minidump?

I'll try with the May 12 drivers and check back!

I don't have anything called Minidump in my Windows folder, maybe related to the error message in Event Viewer: Dump file creation failed due to error during dump creation ?

The garbage windows version that wont detect even the most unstable of rams or the bootable usb?

Try some other stresstests like prime95 large ffts (ram) but may aswell test cpu (smallest ffts, small ffts is just a burn test to test cooling not stability)

If stresstests pass your os is problably fucked and you should just reinstall the os, if not then might be your storage

This is a Desktop by description of specs. unless I misunderstood, why do you have the sleep mode on ?

Hibernate should be disabled also as well as Pagefile.

Now according to Intel your CPU supports 2400mhz RAM at max.. Did you Memtest this system ever ?

Must run 8 passes (overnight).

Windows has issues with sleep, so unless you really need it, probably best to avoid it. Also, make sure fast startup is disabled, as it can cause problems. Disagree about disabling hibernate (unless you have no need for it, but I keep it enabled on my desktop so I can use it for power outages if needed) and pagefile. While it very well could be a hardware issue, my bet is on Windows or driver issue.
