I have a 280x and i dont think i'm getting the performance ive seen people getting.I have a fx 4100 cpu, ive had it for about 2 1/5 years now and will probably upgrade to a 4670k or 4770k soon since ive been playing alot of arma 3 but still curios if my cpu is bottlenecking my gpu.

Thnx for replies.

It's nothing special CPU wise, some things don't care which CPU. In ARMA3 there is definitely a bottleneck with an FX4100.

I'd recommend a 4670k + Z87 D3H, will work fine for you :)

For now you can OC your FX4100 it will help a little.

ARMA is one of those games with a very bad optimized gaming engine  to use multiple cores, so yeah, the cpu is the bottleneck here, arma dayZ lol and wow, run better on an intel cpu. you will also be bottlenecked with an i5 or i7, but since intel cpu´s have a better single core performance, you will not realy notice this.

Overclocking does not realy help

God yes.

In my case, my CPU is being bottlenecked by my GPU. xD

Not necessarily, ARMA doesn't use many cores so you'll get 15-20% at best.

With the higher IPC of Intel he'd gain a lot more :)

@tmcclelland455  No silly the GeForce 7025 is the boss of high end gaming :)

Clearly. 7025 is bigger than 780, isn't it?
