You don't need 5800X3D for RX 6900 XT, maybe in 1080p to get very high FPS and R9 CPU does not guarantee better gaming performance.

R9 CPU helps if you play Anno or any city simulation game like City Skyline.

well this is like a month maybe month and a half before i buy the gpu should i get rnda 3 (7000) or the 6900 xt and what cpu should i use if i get the rdna 3?

How are we supposed to know how good the 7000 series is, compared to the 6900xt?

Wait a week before asking these questions.

Not only are you early on the GPU launch , you're a month too early on your own timeline.

is 6400 mts with xmp 3.0 the speed with xmp enabled or without xmp enabled?

the ram im planing on getting: G.SKILL Trident Z5 Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5 6400 Intel XMP 3.0 Desktop Memory Model F5-6400J3239G16GX2-TZ5K - Newegg.com

DDR5 memories are rated to operate at 4800 MHz by default. Anything above that needs XMP/DOCP/manual overclocking enabled.

However, so far, DDR5 can go up to 8400 MHz at max. But I don't think this ceiling will remain the same in the near future. If you remember, DDR4 was meant to operate at 3200 MHz max when initially launched. But there are many DDR4 kits available that can go past 5000 MHz. In fact, the HyperX Sets DDR4 Overclocking World Record at 7156MHz.

We’re a week away from RDNA3 launch, just wait and see, buying so late is terrible, it’s not even debatable, especially when it comes to GPU’s.

Sapphire Nitro+ or Powercolor Red Devil, get the cheapest of them.

But for 1080p you shouldn't be using a 6950 XT. You'll easily get CPU bottlenecked, even with 13th gen Intel (currently the fastest gaming CPUs). A 3070 or 6750 XT is probably more than enough.

I'm sure there is a Newegg link, but you can access Newegg just as easily as I can.  Go nuts.

You could try playing around with Virtual Super Resolution. Not as good as native 1440p or 4k, but imo still looks nicer than 1080p and if you are bottlenecked by the CPU there won't be a big performance hit 🙂

well how badly would the cpu bottleneck at 1440p compaired to 1080p or virtual super resolution and how do you activate it in games?

Depends on the game, but I'd say in most cases a 6950 XT with current CPU's would be a good combo for 1440p and 4k.
