Ja, these are use widely in schools and any data archive centres. We used 40TB ones at my old school as you have to keep all data for at least 5 years if i remember correctly.

If you ever visit any enterprise Datacenter, they usually backup nightly to tapes, and have them taken to safe places, like vaults, usually in armored vehicles if I recall correctly. It is a great tool for long term backups.

Damn these are just making the drives that we have today look bad as they can fit that much space in a small area. :/

really nice thread.

i don't know that tape used heavily as backup solution, this really open my eyes

just because you can't see it doesn't mean it didn't exist.

 something that works with LO6
