My RTX GPU has arrived, but I need help installing it!

F.E.A.R.

Ok so my RTX 3060 has arrived to day, and I put it in the socket. But now I don't where do the cables go. Do I connect the 8 pin connector to any of the free slots on my PSU? And the 6+2 pin goes into the GPU right? I'm confused.

If there's a 8 pin connector, you plug in the 6+2 pin cable, which is equivalent to a single 8 pin cable.

I've plugged the 6+2 connector to the GPU like you said but where do I connect the other end to the PSU? It's a 750w EVGA Gold G2L.

There should be at least one connector labelled "PCIe" on the PSU.

Is there no manual?

If the cable came with the PSU there should only be a few 8pin connectors, usually the only cables that use 8pin on the PSU side are CPU and GPU, so there should only be a few to plug it into, and usually on the PSU it will have the correct spots labeled PCIE or VGA, that's where it plugs into. If you are not sure, you can add a picture to the post of the PSU, or read your manual that came with it, it should have a diagram with labeled ports.

Its like some of you have never actually looked at many PSU manuals, they're usually incredibly useless and certainly aren't going to explain to someone who's never worked with any PC hardware before how to hook up their 3060.

@F.E.A.R.Youtube is your answer. No amount of explanation over text is going to be as helpful as physically watching someone else do it and luckily there are hundreds if not thousands of resources available with a single search. Here is just one.

The problem is that the G2L uses a 9 pin on the back of the power supply and has different LED connectors than a normal G2 or any other power supply. A video will show where to plug everything in except for to the power supply.

Really is an odd little guy. 9 pin for everything, including molex and Sata. 30 pins for the motherboard?

The problem here is OP doesn't know where to plug the cable into on the PSU, they have the GPU hooked up properly already. OP has an older PSU that uses proprietary connections because EVGA tried to be unique. Now that we have a picture of OPs PSU we know what to suggest.

You should be using the universal ports, it seems to be a superflower oem psu.

What does your cable end look like, is it a separate cable you have bought to use with the GPU or is it one that came with the PSU. This PSU uses very specific cables and if the cable is not for this specific PSU it isn't going to work. If the cable you have is the clear connector like all the others with this particular unit you can just plug it into any open port on the PSU labeled universal, they're "universal" in the sense that you can plug any of the PSUs included cables into any of the ports, but they are not universal with other brands of cables.

There's a couple things to change in there. Your ram is not running at XMP speeds. For now, it seems your boot drive isn't showing up in your boot priority list. Push F8. What shows up?

I set up my ram in advanced settings to 3200mhz it shows on the windows too but idk why the bios shows 2400 on front page.

Am i suppose to set up PCI in advanced settings for GPU?

F8 there's no bootable device.

It keeps returning me back to the BIOS. It doesn’t let me into Win.

do you have a drive with windows installed?
if no, then you need to install windows

if yes, you may need to change to allow legacy boot options in the bios, F7 for advanced mode, then im not too sure where in the bios is this option, but poke around in boot options
