  1. It was the PSU that started to kill the GPU. So both the PSU and GPU are for a replacement. Between an RX 550 2GB or GTX 1050 2GB which is better?
  2. I see so it's either the PSU, which certainly is, or there is a possibility that the GPU is dying. Like mb downclocking the GPU could help?
  3. He doesn't know, but both of us doubt that the PSU is generic 500W. It's certainly not a brand PSU.
  4. The PC is a friend mine I forgot to mention, so here are the specs. motherboard: msi h55m-e23 CPU: i3 540 @3.07 GHz RAM: 8 GB (4x2) graphics: Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 7770 1 GB VRAM SSD: 250GB HD: 1TB
  5. After a clean install of Win10 Pro, I doubt the GPU is causing flickering, black screen and freezes. What could be the cause of this problem? The driver is the latest installed. Is it a driver issue or something to do with the GPU itself?
  6. It's no the GPU, it's the CPU bottlenecking the GPU like Jensen said, that's why it's not 80% faster.
  7. It wasn't worth it if you had a GTX 1080 Ti, the RTX 2080 Ti is around 23% faster than the GTX 1080 Ti. But I get there are people that don't care about value and will buy it anyway. The RTX 2000 was just Nvidia experimenting with their RT tech and overpricing the cards because of no competition. And yeah the RTX 3090 is overpriced as hell. Even if it's a behemoth of a card, we can't justify it's price.
  8. Vermintide and Deathwing act like Left 4 Dead. I hope they bring something new to the table. If it's zombies rushing guardsmen, it's just Left 4 Dead all over.
  9. You should only keep the hard disk and SSD. You should sell the rest. As for the PC case change it to a Fractal Design Meshify C or Phanteks P300A Mesh (if you can find it for 49.99$). And the Gigabyte mobo requires a bios update, so it's better if you get an MSI B450 Tomahawk Max.
  10. @narrdarr I didn't discourage him. You can always get an aftermarket cooler that's better than the Wraith Stealth, it's not like the 2300X is a powerful CPU that'll heat quickly, but if he wants his temps low, he can get an aftermarket cooler. And he definitely needs a new case. Unless it's possible to modify the front panel, removing the glass and putting mesh.
  11. Lol the front glass panel doesn't let the fans suck in air, that's why your CPU is running hot. Basically you need a new case and an aftermarket cooler. Fractal Design Meshify Mini C Tempered Glass
  12. Well it's definitely your stock cooler that's causing the problem. Re-applying thermal paste isn't going to fix the problem. Try dusting out the CPU cooler (and case fans?) and see if that fixes the problem. If not, then you'll need a new CPU cooler.
  13. Well if you want to do that go ahead, but you'll have to partition the SSD (which is stupid) between C drive and D. If you can save up money to get a 512GB NVME instead of a 256GB that'd be great. The same build with a 512GB NVME Crucial will cost you 630$ with shipping. If you can't, than I advise you to stay with the 256GB. Yes I switched out the case because the board is a micro-ATX, and the case is also a micro-ATX. Your case is a standard mid-ATX, so it's not gonna look good, plus the micro-ATX case is better for your college life, you don't need a bigger case than micro it's
