Do corporate networks blocking ads harm content creators?

GodAtum

Linus's latest "YouTube SHOULD charge for 4K. Hear me out." video got me thinking. Wherever I've worked, the corporate network always blocks ads, including those on Youtube and Twitch. Yes, I know I shouldn't be procrastinating at work 🤣 but does this practice harm content creators?

You're working for a Privateer!

Yeah, I'd have to assume it does, like any ad blocker would. But I guess I can't really pretend to know how all the possible inner workings operate.

if you're watching a video and the ad is blocked, doens't matter HOW it's blocked, then yes, it does "harm" them by not giving them the 3-5c that video would have generated from the ad

Lol, I willingly block ads and use sponsor block.

I wouldn’t lose sleep over whether or not LMG gets your ad revenue. It’s your legally protected decision to allow or disallow ads on YouTube just like it is with the skip function on your DVR.

Not allowed to use an adblocker at work (security reasons). The end result? My company pays for internet that is now being used by another company to show me ads. Ads that won't generate either my company, nor the advertiser revenue. Sounds like a lose-lose situation to me.
