We don’t have sun in seattle currently, and if we did I’d open the much larger window on the other wall. Vitamin D gang rep tho!

Still not done as I want to get a Shadow Rock LP (so the board isn't getting blasted with dust over time) and three 120mm Silent Wings 3's for the front + a 140 for the rear... This is my latest setup and layout, and now my work setup since working from home now.  It's a ThinkCentre A60, but more like a SleeperCentre at this point.  And yes, that's SCSI, and yes that's a homemade SCSI cable.  Also yes, the keyboard is in Hylian.  😄

(Only reason I have a SCSI CD-ROM drive installed was because I was curious if I could get a SCSI-2 device to work on Windows 11 (with a SCSI controller where the latest driver was for Windows 7), and it worked.  And it kind of ended up just staying, because it turned out to make better CD rips than the DVD drive above it, and has analog CD audio out, so I can play old school Quake and hear the background music/ambiance (for some reason the top drive which is SATA, the music never plays at all from the original CD).

enough of this fancy shmancy nonsense.

Because I can't be bothered to stay organized...

Believe it or not it is pretty nice when I have the energy to organize.

I 'built' the desk with home depot butcher block, routed the edges, bought legs on amazon and then polyurethane coated it.

I like to think of my desk like an i spy book.

second picture is my view out from the desk.

Looks like you put a lot of time and attention into your battle station, and I think it shows! Good work!

I do think that you need some cable runs on the walls to hide those black cables. Would be a nice finishing touch.

My setup is a home studio, so it takes up a solid chunk of my house, but I can sum up its current state in these 3 pics.

Pic 1:

323889839_1367590053979061_6775358186460483834_n.thumb.jpg.456bdc71e638ff4f81fb995ff236c966.jpg

Control room, facing desk. Up to date. Most sessions just occur in the control room or booth, so the rack off to the right of the desk is used for those. For sessions that occur in the live room (drums or full bands) that require more input channels, the board (center) is used. The little board off to the left is just a production controller that I use for mixing. I -think- the next upgrade will be new monitors (speakers); What I have now are fine and have served me well, but I find myself yearning for a bit more clarity when mixing. A new desk build is also in the plans (eventually).

More details:

Spoiler

Board: Midas M32
Production controller: Presonus Faderport 16
Rack (right) from top to bottom:

- Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 3rd gen
- Warm WA273
- DBX 266 XL
- Black Lion Seventeen
- Warm WA-2A
- Warm EQP-WA
- 48-point patch bay

Rack (Left):
- Empty, save for a power conditioner. Was going to make some purchases to fill it up last year but plans changed.

Speakers: Yamaha HS8

TVs: cheap TCL 43" 4k units, just needed to be able to see what I was doing better while sitting a few feet away.
Monitor (right): Asus VC239H (23" IPS 1080p); its pair is in the booth, mirrored off this one so I can throw lyrics up for singers.

Keyboard (right): Arturia Keylab 88 (1st gen)

Acoustic paneling I designed and built myself.

Pic 2 in spoiler:

Spoiler

323770165_716883093150131_7015291291822903367_n.thumb.jpg.307dfa5f3e579533895ec3278491343f.jpg

Control room, facing booth. Up to date. Audio to/from booth handled via analog snake. Video to/from booth handled via ethernet. After new speakers I'd like to build a new booth. Material cost for the new design will be a bit expensive, so I'm holding off for as long as I can.

Pic 3 in spoiler:

Spoiler

323874847_474904068131010_9141883184507927076_n.thumb.jpg.5029ea3c761cc4d8395cfe650e0214ee.jpg

Live room. Some changes to the equipment in the rack since this was taken, but otherwise up to date. Audio and communications between live room and control room handled via a single ethercon run. Video between live room and control to be handled via ethernet when I finally get around to it.

And for the LTT-friendly bits:

PC is an X99 build from 2014 with an i7-5820k (NH-D15 cooler), 32GB (8x4GB) DDR4, GTX 970.
2x Samsung 850 EVO 250GB (Raid 1)
2x SK Hynix Gold S31 1TB (Raid 1)
1x SK Hynix Gold P31 1TB M.2
1x Samsung 860 Evo 1TB
1x 2TB HDD

There's a server in the rack under the PC (you can't really see it, but it's in the first pic)
Core 2 Quad Q8400, 4GB DDR2 (2x2GB), 8TB NAS HDD, Gigabit network card.

PC, server, modem, and router are all on backup power since we get occasional flickers with the weather.

P.S. Can you spot the cat?

Please take everything I say with a healthy dose of Googling.

really good looking. I added a 120mm attached to the front panel down below and other fan mounted the same as the front noctua fan. Also what cpu cooler is that? I plan on getting a 4790k too, or should i just leave the stock cooler
