Your game loads will be the same on the HDD, with or without an Operating system on it.聽

Yes, your machine will be much snappier in Windows and game launchers.聽 In the game, you'll be like you were though, no change.

Your next step is replacing all your HDD's with SSD's going forward.

Any data on the SSD will load much faster, so e.g. boot time should be noticeable reduced. Any data that is on the HDD will behave exactly as it did before.

If you install a game to the SSD, it should also load noticeably faster. This may not be true for games where data is compressed and e.g. the CPU decompressing the data is the slowest part, rather than the disk. But otherwise you should definitely notice it.

I always keep my games on a separate drive. For some game stores such as Steam you have the benefit of not having to redownload games if you reinstall the OS. You just point it to the game library folder and it detects the installed games and your up and running again.聽
