Mystery RAM stick in a Proliant 380 G7?

My roommate and I recently acquired an old Proliant server with dual Xeons, 48GB of RAM and 3 SAS drives. We found this RAM stick inside, what is it for? it looks like it has 3 RAM chips per side, then these two TI chips and this large connector and cable... the other end of the cable goes to a Varta rechargable battery. Is this just a really really big storage space for CMOS settings?

Last time I saw a dimm with a connector like that, it was for a raid card I think.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

 

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

Probably RAM cache for the onboard RAID controller with battery so it can finish write operations after unexpected power loss.

Ok looks like HP calls it a FBWC or BBWC and that might be flash memory not all RAM and you can get them in 512MB and 1GB capacities, neat!

 

If it's got a part number sticker just google that!
