Moving out of the US

Unlike 99% of the wildlife, which will. (joking, mostly)

I've lived here my whole life, I'm not dead yet.  I've only been bitten by 2 spiders, 1 dog and feral aquatic bird (not sure what it was but it had fucking teeth).

The last snake I saw in the wild lost it's head to a shovel.  And the rabbits are pretty annoying.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

As a non-Australian, that sounds like the most Australian thing possible.

Also, you've had 4 more animal bites than I've ever had.

Can you elaborate on this? I'm not aware of any rules or laws in the US that would force you to renounce your citizenship just by being an expat living abroad.

If you want the US to stop charging you taxes you have to file the right forms.

Where'd you see six years? We're always required to pay taxes unless you renounce citizenship. There's ways to claim your overseas taxes as long as you made the money and lived overseas though and pay almost no taxes state side.

It's like common law marriage or squater's rights it's based on court precedents I think not actual written law.  Filing the paperwork can get you out of that quicker.  My understanding was that if you're out of the country for 6 years and don't come back at all it's a common law way of renouncing your citizenship.  But it's not valid if you're a felon cause they still want to extradite you for that.  I have all this stuff from when my brother thought he was gonna stay in the philippines I'll go look it up.

But still no sources? You're also using something that's done on a state by state basis to prove that you don't have to do something that's federally required?

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

I'd love to see a source for this - I think a lot of Expat US Citizens would be furious if after 6 years of living abroad their citizenship was just revoked.

That might be true of other countries - I have no idea. But I would be shocked if this were true in the USA.
