I dont use the stock apple chargers for that reason. I switched to the AUVIO 6ft braided versions. I picked them and a lifetime warranty from radioshack for $25. about the same price apple chargers for the crappy 3ft versions

Why not a cable that doesn't do that after a couple of months? No reason for it to.

You're trying to argue logic and functionality with Apple's "artistic vision". Their goal is pretty garbage that needs to be replaced frequently.

There isn't any way of telling that this is actually an Apple product, the ebay replicas look the same.

Maybe Apple use better adhesive or something? Then again maybe it is genuine and they really are that way I digress.

Well my old macbook pro charger was very stable even though there wasn't much protection but the god damn ipod cables, all the ones i even had broke

i7 2600 | HD 6870 | 8GB Memory | 120GB Samsung 840 EVO | 500W PSU | Fractal Define R4

I have a lot of upgrade plans, and no money  :)

Yeah I got 3 iPhone charge cable all the same like this.

The stone cannot know why the chisel cleaves it; the iron cannot know why the fire scorches it. When thy life is cleft and scorched, when death and despair leap at thee, beat not thy breast and curse thy evil fate, but thank the Builder for the trials that shape thee.

It happened to two friends and their iPod touch cables (both were the stock cable that came with their iPods), my cable is looking fairly worn out in that area as well.

It's a very common issue.

Interesting, I've had a bunch of apple charging cables and only one broke, but that was the head of the 30 pin charger, the plastic casing disintegrated. Otherwise I've never had this issue, although I know a fair few who have have.

How does one cut a cable under normal use? This is the closest I've gotten to cutting any kind of cable without any tools / intentionally doing it, ever (3,5 mm headphone jack on my 4+ years old cheapo Labtec headset):

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.
