10 year setup challenge

I guess the ten year challenge is a thing and it just so happens that I found a picture from 10 years and 3 days ago of my setup.  Thought I'd see if anyone else has pictures from that long ago too.

Not quite 10 years, but the earliest picture I have is from ~2015 I think (and the quality sucks).

Pretty sure the only things I still have is that monitor (it's the vertical one in the next picture) & that garbage chair....

Not exactly sure the timelines (no photos have dates on em. but the left setup was my desktop setup from roughly 2008 through 2017. Moved and have put a lot more effort into my entertainment space since.

 

edit: And here I go not attaching photos like a pro.

 

edit2: Nostalgia in that photo... I may still have every single piece of hardware that is on that desk still stored away in my closet.

OP - I've seen several setups similar with the monitors vertical like that and angled... doesn't that hurt your neck after awhile? Just curious...

i have a 9 year old pic sadly i lost all my older stuff...

still work in progress and pics not updated. the goal is to have everything off the desk and all cables off the floor.

pc sitll in works as some of you know...

when im done i hope to have 4+ pcs, 3 headsets, 2keybors mouses, all my consoles hooked up, recorded audio and video.

 

old pc wc 1366 i7 920, asus rampage extreme 2 mb, 6gb gskill ram,  gpu think was a gtx 760 in a caselabs magnum th10 case

 

new pc i5 6600k , now asus saber tooth z170 (had 270 sold it) , gtx 1080, case will be thermaltake core 200, have it in a thermaltake core x9 atm

old pic of rack now i have 2 racks one on top of each other, all consoles and hopeful most of the cords will go in there and probly 1 pc at the bottom, have in there now 1 hdmi switch, 1 8x hdmi switcher, 24port switch and some of my consoles

I mostly use the one on top for discord or other things that I don't need to look at for extended periods of time.  When I do watch something it's only for 10-15 minutes at a time but on occasion I'll watch longer, at which point I'm sitting back in my chair and it's fine

 

*edit: I don't have any games that I'd want to try stretch to both screens, never tried maybe I should

its currently not setup but will be again soon, as i use this normally to play DOS games, so does this count?

Me staring at my dad play World of Warcraft. I was 6 at the time so I didn't do much gaming myself.

I had the family computer with Windows 8 freshly installed. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture that doesn't have my siblings in it, but the equipment is still at my parents home.

Dorm room glory is amazing.  Back in 02/03 I was in college with the old family computer with my first experience with broadband.  It was awesome, I played diablo 2 like a religion which was my first real online gaming.  Hopefully these days are a great memory of growth for you in years to come

Setup after I built my first water cooled system in my new huge 800D case. It was apparently December 2010 when I took this picture as you can see in the NCIX desk calendar. I'm still using that case and the AX850 power supply today. And still have that nGear metal case for a foot rest. lol

 

 

 

Here's my setup today. I had to take it in a weird pano style to fit it all in. I'm just in the middle of building a new desk which will also be a corner desk. Won't finish it until after we move into a new house though, just in case I need to convert it into a straight desk.

Thanks. I’m still building more custom furniture for my battle station and getting rid of the store bought items.

 

It’s both network and AV gear in a custom rack I built. It’s got some UniFi gear in it as well AV gear and my home server on the bottom.

I'm still using the setup I had 9 years ago (though, I got a new monitor). The computer reaches 10 in September
