Delta FFC1248DE 4-Wire 120MM Fan "Server Fans" on a PC?

Threadripper256

I have a bunch of server fans (https://store.cwc-group.com/ffc1248de.html) with special 16 pin header. It looks basically like 4 4-pin harness together. I plan to cut them to fit a normal 4-pin. I was wondering if these Delta Sever fans be used on a PC mobo. It uses DC48V compared to DC 12V in normal case fans. I would imagine this would require some sort of reducer/additional psu?? splitting RPM and PWM to the mobo and power from a 48v psu (https://www.newegg.com/p/1B4-0016-07T85?Description=48v power supply&cm_re=48v_power supply-_-9SIANMWFGM2397-_-Product)??

Trying use these additional fans to cool a radiator.

Thanks in advance

Looking at the color codes black is universally ground, red is usually only used for 5v but why would a fan need 5v and 12v? And yellow is usually +12v

Youll have to rewire the connector, black should be soldered to yellow, yellow should be soldered to blue, blue and red idk what the hell those are for so just cut em for now, then buy some cheap powered fan hub and just plug it in, although careful of the orientation

I do have a delta fan and retards at dell only swapped the pwm pin to the other side so i just have it plugged in with only 3 pins and backwards, it does work but holy crap the noise, maybe i could use it for something if i were to overvolt it

You will need 48V PSU, yes. The 4 wires are red for +48V, black for ground, yellow for RPM reading and blue for PWM [1].

Also, these server fans are meant to run in a data center, where noise levels don't matter. It will be very loud.

I used to run server fans.. they make consumer fans look like a complete joke and a waste of money. Until you talk about noise..

I swapped all of my 120x38s out for Noctua iPPC.. it’s still loud lol..
