So I when to IKEA today and I saw the ROG stuff and yes its as odd as it sounds. And I saw this pc which looks like and ROG prebuilt and it had actual handwear inside with like the RTX and AMD stickers on the out side. I took this one picture of it I know it bad but it was typed down on the floor and it was the best I could get. So my question is is it real if it is a am really pissed that I didn't ask if I could have that GPU and if it isn't that would make me much more happy. Its a chonker of a card so it has to be a 3080ti or 3090. That ram and cooler look super OEM that's why I think it an ROG prebuilt.

Doesn't hurt to ask, but I highly doubt they'd have given it to you.

I'd imagine it'll be stolen within a few weeks.

I actually think it probably is real. If it's a single PC, that's a very, very small cost for the store, and really, it's likely given to them by Asus, meaning no cost at all. I haven't seen a store that has completely fake computers on display; I could be wrong, and they could exist, but the cost they'd have to put into molds etc for what would be very small runs of a product, it's highly, highly unlikely. It's far more likely that it's a completely functional, real PC.

You're thinking too hard.  They don't have to create a series of molds to produce 'dummy' parts to make a display PC, they already make the parts they need; Broken parts.  A board that doesn't pass QC still looks like a working product.  Just slap a heat sink on it and you have an Asus RTX graphics card worth nothing more than the metals it's made out of.  The case is obviously real but the fancy parts are surely DOA.  A good way to recycle bad parts, IMO.

It’s not real, it’s a dummy. All of the electronic display decorations in IKEA stores are fake. Manufacturers make non-functional units for them to display in the store in exchange for money (advertising).

My local store has a toooon of fake Dell laptops that are identical to the real thing until you realize the display is just plastic and it weighs a third as much as it should.

Same thing applies to other stuff too. They have real books with real covers from popular authors but when you open them it’s just blank pages or Latin filler.

I recall from a few years ago at Ikea that they also use fake plastic computers or empty cases just for their display rooms. Might be different now though, but that PC surely is real.

It’s a dummy unit. Everything they use on the floor is fake. Zoom in on the GPU and look at the unpopulated PCIe power connector. It’s just a black hole without pins. The RAM is also missing memory cells and there’s no SSD or SATA cable that I can see.

Eagle eye. It looks real at first glance, it's a pretty good dummy unit then, probably has some decent weight to it too.

I don't see any unpopulated PCIe power connectors on the GPU. Both connectors look like they have cables connected. As for the RAM it's likely that those sticks are single sided, and it also looks like there's something in the M.2 slot, likely the SSD.

Is that hole to the left of the power cable not where the second power connector should be?

I guess I could be wrong. I also don’t see the SSD.

I put a few rectangles on the image to show what I see. The upper block is what looks like an SSD, and the two areas side by side should be the power connectors. It looks like one is just obscured by the cables. The area to the left of that just looks like a heatsink. I could be wrong, but that's just what I see.

Unlikely they would sell it. It's a company asset and also what would be considered set dressing or prop given Ikea is a furniture store. Also seems others have noticed that it looks like nothing more than a prop than a working PC just has a ROG branding even so if it was real it would be a company asset.
