Flea market find Shoretel UC Server

Jstolfi

I went to the flea market yesterday and found a Shoretel uc server 20 revision 2 for $5. The seller reported that it came from an office and was used in a phone system. He reported that the other components all sold and that’s why he let me have the server for $5. I noticed the product key on the back for windows server 2012 and figured that alone might allow me to recoup the small investment. I was wondering if this thing can run Ubuntu server? Some friends of mine have been wanting to make a quake server and this might be an affordable way to get that done

I wouldn't bother, looking it up it's not going to upgradable and has embedded Windows Server 2008 on it with 4GB of DDR3 RAM and a Celeron E3400 dual core. Even IF you could get a different OS on there it's going to be really bogged down for any type of actual server or game server work.
