Windows 10 Using All 16 GB Of DDR4 RAM Without Browsers And Background Apps

Hello,

The past two weeks using my HP Pavillion Laptop which is connected to your average 60hz Dell Monitor, I've been experiencing really slow performance and huge drops of my FPS while playing games, I would check my Task Manager and would always find my Memory always being used over 90%. Even closing all my games & browsers, it would always stay at around 93-95%. I never had this issue before and checked for malware one or twice everyday and could never find any. I would also clean my PC just as much as scanning for maleware to squeeze the most performance that I can get. This has been a slightly new issue and currently looking for answers.

MP4 File Includes Active Processes, Performance, And Startup Applications.

You have a *ton* of crap running that will eat up your RAM.

I'd start by neutering windows 10 telemetry and killing off auto starting programs and services that you dont need (livewpf, edge, windows search, etc) and see where it gets you

Far be it for me to tell you how to run your system, but you've still got a lot of software/services running that isn't needed.

Kill AVG for starters, Windows Defender/Firewall is all that is needed.

Ensure you are running some good ad-blockers in Edge, that'll cut down on RAM usage.

KIll off the HP trackpad analytics service

(Personal opinion ahead)

Windows Search and indexer is useless. DIsable it and use UltraSearch by Jam SOftware

https://www.jam-software.com/ultrasearch_free

KIll off all windows telemetry with the following programs:

https://www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10

and

Spybot Anti-Beacon (the base free version will do just fine in combination with Shutup10)

https://www.geckoandfly.com/25083/free-tools-disable-stop-windows-spying-tracking-you/

(end Personal opinion)

Why are you running both nVidia stuff and AMD stuff?

@Radium_AngelSorry, went to bed. Followed your instructions and download the programs, will update on that. I have the NVIDIA Drivers for my GTX 1050 and the drivers for my Ryzen 5 3550H w/ graphics. that's why both are on TM

Update: Used your recommended programs, still at 90%

dont know abt my adblockers

Post an updated image of your task manager, with most used RAM programs sorted first

If you add up all the RAM in use, does it total out to what Windows claims is actually in use?

Because I"m not seeing 16GB in use on that screenshot, unless there is more to it

Why do people crop the list so often? Just post the entire task manager window so the graphs/summary are also visible and anything fishy there can be seen.

One thing you should do (which certainly won't fix this issue) is go to the bios and allocate less RAM for the Radeon GPU. An iGPU does not need that much, even in a laptop. Give it at most 128MB.

Asus ROG G531GT : i7-9750H - GTX 1650M +700mem - MSI RX6600 Armor 8G M.2 eGPU - Samsung 16+8GB PC4-2666 - Samsung 860 EVO 500G 2.5" - 1920x1080@145Hz (172Hz) IPS panel

Family PC : i5-4570 (-125mV) - cheap dual-pipe cooler - Gigabyte Z87M-HD3 Rev1.1 - Kingston HyperX Fury 4x4GB PC3-1600 - Corsair VX450W - an old Thermaltake ATX case

What does it show in Task Manager -> Performance -> Memory?

EDIT: NVM, there's a screenie above. Personally I'd do a clean install. You can also try doing disc cleanup, OS updates and running the Windows corrupted file check/repair (cannot remember what it was called). What is concerning me is the intergrated GPU being 73C at idle.
