yea i've been a member for LLT site for about a month now and i have learned many things

In a perfect world: 3080 Ti FE

 

In our world: 3070 Ti, or if you're lucky, a 6800XT.

 

Personally I wouldn't run 4k ultra with anything lower than a 3080 or 6800XT, but good luck getting one of those for within your budget.

I wouldn't aim for 4K Ultra at all, there's usually very little difference to High at a huge increase in GPU load.

 

Then again for the list of games above, its easy to run those 4K 60fps on even a 2080.  Question is, will it still be the case for Forza Horizon 5 and will you be playing that?  I'd suspect probably yes seeing as its developed for Xbox One and Series X doesn't even run FH4 on the graphical settings a 2080 can manage, but we don't really know.

 

Unless absolutely desperate, now is a terrible time to buy a GPU.  I've been wanting to get a 3080 since they came out, no way I'm paying current prices, but then fortunately I do already have a 2080 and having to drop to 1440p is much more bearable than being ripped off with current prices.

At that res and quality requirements, there really aren't many options for a good experience but I suspect you knew that already.

 

3080, 3080Ti, 3090, 6800XT, 6900XT. 

 

Take what you can get.

I got 2 at around that price.

 

The first is my EVGA XC3 Ultra 3080 ti that cost exactly $1200. I got it on the Newegg Shuffle at the 3080 ti launch.

I use it for 4k ultra with a 5800x.

To give you an idea of what it does:

Horizon Zero Dawn 4k ultra was 83fps average. 

Shadow of the Tomb Raider 4k at the highest preset was 91fps average.

 

The next is a ASUS ROG Strix 3080 for $1150. It is a 450 watt card so lots of overclocking head room. I got it on an auto notify from B&H Photo. It is paired with a i9 9900k.

Horizon Zero Dawn bench 4k ultra was 80fps average.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider at the highest preset was 87fps average.

 

At 1440p there is an average of 16 frames between the GPUs but at 4k it is around 4 frames. 

 

Spending more money is a bit of a waist.

I bought a 3090 for $2400 for doing video work but I did test it with some games. 

Horizon Zero Dawn bench 4k ultra was 89fps average.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider at the highest preset was 97fps average.

So not a lot for an extra $1200

1660 Ti is slightly faster, but not by much. I'd get the cheapest, also avoid the single fan Asus, it's trash

We're always here to help but I think I agree with @Dedayogin that its a bit of a life lesson that when presented with a question, maybe try to research what you can and then formulate some more specific questions. Asking general, easily looked up questions is fine, and we'll help but I think it would be a great skill to be able to find answers yourself.

super would be another thing, else 1660 like the super is a newer version of the 1660 cards? if I dont remember wrong. With faster memory or something like that. else there isn't too much, depends on the price difference. Not many of the 1000 cards out there, except the confusing 1660 or supers inbetweens that can be overpriced.

 

1660 - 1660 ti - 1660 super.

Exactly this.  Trying to help but noticing a trend.   Or saying  "Hey, these look to perform about the same from what I can find, but is there something I am missing that makes one better?".

 

One offs are fine, IMO.  Just been a few more easy questions lately.

Whats the rest of the system? For that budget you can get a much better cpu if your goal is to encode video.

 

Basically rtx 3xxx > rtx 2xxx > 1xxx for encdoing. Get a 3060 if you can, otherwise get any 2xxx card

well i have heard that the updated encoder is more efficient, i am going to be using it to record and stream, also i have heard the fps impact is low and the quality is good, my Cpu is the 5800x

Doubt you can get a 3060 for $500. 2070 is over $500 on Ebay.  2060 maybe.

Yes.  but you may be able to find a 2070 at that price or at $700 if you want to stretch a little more.
