Bad battery causing thermal throttling?

I have a Dell G5 5587 which is 2 years old now, it thermal throttles a lot but i have put up with it, even when browsing or idle-in, it is at 70 degrees, and as expected reaches 95+ when gaming or doing anything. I tried undervolting at -135mv but it doesn't do anything and yes the undervolt is applied I checked in HWinfo.
Does this have anything to do with the battery? as in diagnostics my battery life is about 40%.
If not how can i fix this throttling?
Please help.
Thank you.

Your computer most likely needs a deep cleaning (disassembling it and cleaning it internally) and a fresh application of thermal paste.

Have you cleaned it out? As in opened it up, used compressed air to clean the heatsinks and fans + a paintbrush? If not then yeah this thing is just clogged with dust and can't cool itself.

I haven't tried replacing the thermal paste but the disassembly seems complicated

I have cleaned the fans but yeah I dont think I cleaned it properly, need to gather up some confidence to do the disassembly as its not as simple as my older msi laptop

Thank you

Just cleaning from the outside doesn't do much. It is hardware to fully take apart but well you have to do it or have someone else do it for you as currently it's not a good experience.

I just use good old arctic mx 4 or mx 5. Plenty other choices too.
