What happen's when a fan just decides "Hey imma rattle"

Does the fan keep rattling? Or does it stop after like 2 seconds? I was on my pc earlier and i bought a rand new psu. And i heard noise while loading into a fortnite game. Headphones were right beside the case so i thought it was rattling. So i searched FN bus noises and THE BUS ITS SELF is rattling. And was very similar to what i heard. Main question is , if a fan rattles does it continue to do so? Or can it happen , stop after 2 seconds and never happen again? Or was it even propably the game not my psu? 😂

Not every rattle is the same. Some fans have a specific point where harmonics of it will result in rattle, this also can happen with fan bearing degradation over time, also can happen with dust buildup.

A fan can rattle if its bearing comes loose. Means it may need replaced. If that is the case.

Or it needs cleaned because of dust build up, if that is it, just clean it.
