Do I need 16 gb of Ram for my Notebook?

Hey, I want to buy a Notebook but I can't decide between the 
Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 14 with the AMD Ryzen 5 4500U, 8 GB Ram 512 GB SSD for 649,99€
or the

Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 14 with the AMD Ryzen 5 5500U, 16 GB Ram 512 GB SSD 749,99€
The rest of the Hardwear is the same. I cant Upgrade the Ram, but I can upgrade the SSD later on.

There is no Model available with the same specs but a smaller SSD. 
I want to use the PC for school and later University. No Gaming or Video editing etc. Only writing and lots of Googling. 
It should last for about 5-6 Years. 
Do you have a good alternative? If so please let me know.

If you will be using the laptop for over 5-6 years, I'd suggest you go for 16GB. You'll be more future proof with that.

I looked up the wrong model and mistook the laptop to have upgradable RAM

Since it's an APU machine you'll likely have 2 out of those 8 used for graphics so yes 8 is a bit tight.

nfortunately I cant buy the Lenovo Yoga you recommended with these specs Because it is unavailable in Germany
