Favorite game pad?

Go to solution Solved by Ignis86,

I use a Logitech g 13 I think it is but they don't make them anymore so if I were going with a new thing now I would use something like the Razer Tartarus V2 with the directions bound to the thumb joystick and the rest he's like a keyboard map however I was comfortable with

I'm trying to switch over to mouse and keyboard for Fortnite (don't judge) I've been playing on console all my life but recently got my first real gaming desktop (I7 & 3080)

I'm looking for a gamepad to help with the transition preferably one with a legit analog thumb stick as most I see its practically just wasd on a D-pad. any opinions? or perhaps tips/tricks for keyboard? I struggle with wasd because of a hand injury. (broken fingers and missing half a knuckle causes my ring finger to lock and not want to bend in the heat of the moment when curled up to reach "a" "z" and "shift")

The XBOX One controller is still my go-to controller for games.

The only disadvantage is that PC games typically don't have any sort of aim assist, where-as console games do to help you with aiming.

If youre on xbox, then your controller will work seamlessly with windows. If youre on PS4, steam can bridge the gap between a dualshock controller and games that support it.

I dont think I was clear, I want to learn mouse/keyboard as its significantly better for Fortnite, I currently use a dual sense controller which works flawlessly minus the adaptive triggers but I struggle with building/editing on the controller without paddles and would rather learn keyboard than get and then learn paddles.

Just use a Xbox or Playstation controller.  They're way higher quality than ones made specifically for PC.

I'm not looking for a controller.... I want a gamepad with a legit analog joystick.

guess I'm just going to get an azeron.....

Yeah 99% of people use the terms gamepad and controller as synonyms so we never would have figured out that was what you meant.

It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Wii U Gamepad

Xbox One Controller

Joy-Cons (If only they have analog triggers and better sticks)

He doesn't actually want what most people call a gamepad or a controller. He wants something like the Razer Nostromo/Orbweaver/Tartarus, but with an analog thumbstick.

I have a Razer Nostromo. I don't know how it is still working, it's outlasted at least 7 full keyboards and 12 mice. Only one key is problematic, but that key isn't as much of an issue as if it had been another key...

I cannot recommend XBox controllers, since they have a 3 month warranty. They're basically built to last 3 months, the crap the bed.

in 20+ years I've never once seen a game pad called a keyboard or a controller called a gamepad.

It's kind of funny because wikipedia defines a gamepad as a controller basically, but has a separate "gaming keypad" article for what you want that describes it as an "auxiliary keyboard."

In any case, since it's clear there is lexical ambiguity here and the way you use the term may put you in the minority, the honus is really on you to be clear about what you mean if you want people to help. I don't think there's any point in arguing about it, though.
