I don't even know what to say to that. They're very similar, and the comments are in the same place. Not sure what's confusing about that lol.

theyre similar… but the app is more cluttered and more difficult to navigate imo - and the app is way dark for some reason, guess its harder to see the tiny button…

 

Also browser has pip !  makes no sense they removed that from the free app … ( i mean even chrome has that, but not the app!?)

No they didn't. PiP is annoying, but it's still present in the YouTube app.

as soon you exit the app it stops playing. to have it keep running you have to pay afaik.

i always wanted a PiP TV (too expensive) and now we have the technology to make it happen easily and it still doesnt work! (most of the time)

You mean closing the app completely? Of course it would stop playing then. If you just press the home button it works fine. You don't have to pay.

I mostly watch on my phone so Premium is a no-brainer. (no easy adblock) However this seems interesting since I don't use the "bonus" features much.

Pressing the "home button" in yt app does essentially nothing…

 

But, you're not totally wrong, but also not exactly right, PiP is indeed a free feature, although in US only, apparently, rest of the world has to pay… (this is from an actual, current google faq)
