Laptop still overheating after I clean it and changed the thermal paste.

Laptop model and specs:

When I bought back then 6 years ago it didn't have any thermal problems when I play games but after 6 years of using it and cleaning it, it started having thermal issues when I updated my wins 10 regularly this year on the same games I play: Destiny 2

6 years ago my laptop could handle destiny 2 without any issues. Right now it throttles like crazy on super low settings. I uploaded core temp readings of before and after when it starts throttling and other stuff

I recently got my laptop cleaned and everything. when idle my temps are 40-50 bellow. When I game it just shoots up to 100

I googled everything that could help me like managing processor power in the battery settings, tweaking my GPU, doing things to steam. It didn't help at all.

Your workloads have become too much for your laptop. You aare running newer games, or your old games have been updated and now consumes a shitload more resources.

Either that, or silicon degradation. I don't think silicon degradation really happens in 6 years, unless your manufacturer did an EXTREMELY bad job of cooling.

The technician also said the same thing. Maybe my laptop is really getting too old for its time now. If someone can help me just a tad bit more on this one last time if it still doesnt work then Ill demote this laptop to an office laptop in my business and just get a new one this Christmas.

You can try keeping the bottom raised, so the air is unhindered going trough the vents.
Sometimes an extra fan to give it some cool air works. But besides that you might have already done all you can.

(Unless the re-pasting was done terrible, but thats so easy i guess not)

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

I think my last options are ether. Bring to another specialist and buy a really really good laptop cooler. If those dont work anymore then bye bye my 6 year warmachine.

Or just demand less from it. 😉
Would be a perfect media machine tho, will play 4K most likely.
So theres always options.

There’s something wrong with your cooling. That is a 35-45W chip and you’re not even breaking 20W.

Old age doesn’t cause this, it’s either poor contact with the heatsink, bad paste or a clog in the cooler’s exhaust.

Yah I think Ill bring it to another specialist. Just moving the mouse heats up my laptop for no reason.
