Are Intel CPU's still good?

Hi, I currently have an intel i7-9700k and I keep nearing to 100% usage when I am gaming. It makes sense for it to cap out at 100% since I have 3 2k at 144hz monitors. I was wondering if any of the newer intel chips would be any better in my case. I am currently running intel i7-9700k, MSI GeForce RTX 2070 8GB GDDR6, Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32gb at 3200, and an ASUS Prime Z390-A motherboard LGA 1151 ATX. For the monitors if that helps with this whole problem are the Dell S2716DGR with G-Sync.

What games? 100% CPU usage while gaming seems really weird especially for an 8 core CPU, most games only use a handful of cores at most.

why no dark mode?

What sort of fps are you getting in what games? A 2070 isn't that powerful so I'd expect that to be more limiting than the CPU.

I'm thinking you could try to source a 9900k as a direct upgrade swap, but it depends on your local pricing. Any benefit would likely not be that big.

It's 8 core 8 thread though. Those threads might make the difference here. Not an exact comparison, but 8c8t is on average comparable or slightly better than 6c12t in compute potential. 8c16t would be a (small) step up again.

i made sure that my memory was configured correctly and everything is good on that part. I've checked and the memory isn't affected

What specific game are you playing where you're hitting 100%? What is your idle CPU usage?

the games i play ranges from League of Legends, Valorant, Genshin Impact, to games like CyberPunk and GTA 5. All while running a mid-high graphics setting.
uhm for Fps, it fluctuates around 144.

The only one there that should have high-ish CPU usage is CP2077.

When I played on my 5ghz 8700k, it never hit 100% in any of those other games, or even close. CP2077 would hit the high 80s sometimes, though.

usually when im not playing games and just have chrome tabs and school work it hovers around 30% and less, but when i play it jumps to 80-100%

30% is very very high usage during idle or just chrome.

What's your CPU processes tab look like at idle?

right now this is what it looks like. I am doing research and lots of homework. It usually isn't this high, but its a lot lower since i close most of my tabs and shut down my pc

When you play games, are you leaving your enormous nearly 5gb chrome window with 93 processes open?

Hard to say; looking at youtube videos (which can be a can of worms) shows similar setups in valorant only using about 30-55% CPU on a 9700k.
