The RTX 3080 FE has landed!

Managed to get myself a RTX 3080 FE at MSRP and its just been delivered 😃 so can finally attempt my first PC Build!  Been a while since I did my research on how to build this so any recommendations or resources I should look over as a guide before I get going would be appreciated.

Here’s the final parts list (Not bought the second SSD yet but will look at getting this or similar soon)

that actually checks out, meshify c has a fine airflow as well and an okay amount of pre installed fans. solid build in my eye so far. maybe you could have went with the 5800x, to maybe aleviate the 3080 bottleneck but it should run fine anyways, you might not notice a bottleneck, not a najor one to say the least.

hey there!

Crucial p2 don't have a D-RAM so it's performance is same as a HDD. i would recommend you to get a WD Sn750/850.

thankyou

Are you being serious ? The P2 is fine for a gaming pc.

it's not a bad ssd, the only major drawback is of course no HMB or DRAM, unlike the P1, OP already bought it so oh well, it's gonna go where it's gonna go.

What bottleneck are you talking about ? The 5800X and 5600X will perform very similar for gaming.

it's not bad it's okayish but having a D-RAM ssd create a difference in loading time

No it won't create any difference. Go look at reviews of the WD Blue SN550 as an example. That is also a DRAM-less SSD but it performs perfectly fine. If he is just gaming then there is no issue with the P2.

DRAM has nothing to do with loading. Loading games is basically just reading.

DRAM will help the SSD on longer write-tasks.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

A DRAM-less ssd CAN be worse than a HDD. But you just came here and told OP that is IS worse. Please don't spread information you don't properly understand yourself.

Hey man, atleast you didn't say something as stupid as I did in another thread.

I said getting a 80+ Gold PSU, would mean "you're golden", when getting a new PSU. Of course that is not true. I just didn't think, haha.

How are they worse?

I have a Crucial P2 in my i9 9900k system. So far I have had no issues.

  My i9 10900k computer uses a Crucial P1 with a Crucial MX500 for games.

My R7 5800x uses a Corsair MP600 with a Crucial MX500 for games.

My older i7 8086k computer uses a 970 EVO.

Only the Corsair MP600 feels faster than the P2 but it is PCIe 4 and costs $70 more.

DRAM-less ssds can get sub-HDD levels of performance under longer write-workloads. Under normal day to day use you're very unlikely to ever run into these limits.

I didn't say they are generally worse, but they CAN be worse in SPECIFIC situations.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Thanks.

Is there a bench I can run to emulate this?

I have CrystalDiskMark but with that the P2 seems to beat the SATA 2.5 SSDs in writes but not the other NVMes.
