Thanks.

Is there a bench I can run to emulate this?

I have CrystalDiskMark but with that the P2 seems to beat the SATA 2.5 SSDs in writes but not the other NVMes.

Copy a big folder to the drive. Then watch the transfer speeds. After a while they will tank to or below HDD levels. Can't say how long that will take though.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

I don't have a HDD installed so I used three computers using difference types of  SSDs.

I used a folder that is 58gbs with 16 files in it(Fallout 4 high res pack). I copied it from one folder on the drives to another. I did the test with the Crucial P2, Corsair MP600(PCIe 4) and a Crucial MX300(SATA).

The PM600 won with a time of 36.66 seconds

The Crucial MX300 was last and did it in 4 minutes 56 seconds and kept a constant pace.

The Crucial P2 did it in 1 minute 52 seconds and visibly slowed down twice at 66% and at 84%.

The pauses on the P2 would probably get worse on larger file transfers but it is not something I do every day.

The other interesting part of the test was the time it took to copy the files from a WD Passport to the drives.  There was only a 13 second difference between them.
