Bent my new cpu's pins

When installing my new 5800x into the motherboard i accidently bent 2 pins, i managed to bend them back and now my system is working normally it seems. Is there any damage that could of occurred from bending the pins? or am i fine? thanks.

Possible but who knows really. you should be happy its working and i recommend to run a bunch of cinebench runs to see if its working properly. like really a a lot, ~10 multi core, 10 single core runs, compare scores with same cpu and keep an eye on temps too.

 

Thing is as long the pins arent broken you should be probably fine, but I'd still definitely test it.

yeah i've been testing it constantly temps are in check and scores are in the ball park

Those pins are soft and are likely to have been damaged. It shouldn't affected normal operations if you were able to get this far, however they're at an increased risk of breaking if an event like what happened to you occurs again.

No need to, with these either it works or it doesn't and it is in this case.

I've bent and fixed pins only to turn around and clock it hard on Ln2 and it worked just fine, everytime.

How did you bend the pins in the first place OP? Ive read lost of people talking about bending pins but short of dropping the cpu I dont see how people do it.
