MSI x570-a pro worth it?

Happy Friday errbody 🙂

So I was originally planning to get the ASUS B550-A Gaming Motherboard for my upgrade, paired with a Ryzen 5 5600X (probably OC'd a bit), 16 gb ddr4 3600 CL-16 ram (and later an rtx 3060ti, but that can obviously wait), mainly for gaming. Then I looked up X570 motherboards, of which the MSI X570-A pro stood out because of its price. Where I am rn the ASUS B550 one costs anywhere from ~180 to 210 $ (150~170€), and the MSI X570-A about 170 to 200$ (140~165€). The MSI X570-A is from what I understand a bit of a lower-tier board for the X570-series, but still a solid choice. Which one (should I choose/) would you choose, or would you perhaps recommend a completely different board?

Ty in advance!

X570 has no advantage over B550 until you consider the high end $300+ ones. Which Asus B550 did you look for? X570A Pro is bad enough to be much worse than say, the TUF B550 boards but good enough than the heavily cost down B550M-A.

Alright, thanks. I was thinking of the ASUS B550-A Gaming, but am open for suggestions as to which alternative could be better.

The B550-A Strix is vastly better than the X570-A Pro - MSI's own B450 boards are better than their entry-level X570 boards even at half the price.

If you want a good value board, I'd go with the MSI B550-A pro- it's similar in power delivery to a lot of the other midrange B550s and fairly inexpensive, and better than most if not all cheaper X570s.
