R5 3600 high temps.

My temperature for my Ryzen 5 3600 I just got are pretty high. For low usage/idle I am at 50-60C.
This is really weird, especially because my old CPU had better temps with the same cooler.
I am using a Hyper 212 Cooler.
Any ideas why temps are so high??

What are the temps like under full load? Ryzen in general idles hotter than most of Intel's chips, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. You could tune a more aggressive fan curve on the 212 if it's bothering you, though.

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

Intel Core i7-1195G7 • Intel Iris Xe Graphics • 16GB LPDDR4x 4267MHz • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD • 13.4" OLED 3.5K InfinityEdge Display (3456x2160, 400nit, touch).

What is it under load?

I agree its a bit toasty though, higher than stock cooler in my experience.

Do you have  PBO enabled, any overclocks, Ryzen master?

PS: are you sure there isnt anything running in the background?

3600 should idle at like 35C-40C imo, maybe bad mount then?

I can tell you for a fact after I switched to a 212, I went from 60 to 40-50ish on idle. It does spike above 50 when I'm on heavy applications like Premiere Pro or even GTA V.

Somewhere in the 50s seems normal for my R5 3600 at idle. Its more load temps I would really worry about it. As long as they stay under 90C I wouldn't be too worried....

no overclocking on it, running normal.

IDK if there is anything in the background.

I got my cooler on there and screwed in, so is it possible it is badly mounted or no?

okay cool. it's weird, it's like for different cores or something, there are way different temps, like one part says, "55C" and the other says "79C".
